Frequently Asked QuestionsWho are the best candidates for liposculpture? The best candidates for body sculpting with Liposculpture:
Does the fat come back after treatment? Provided that you adhere to a sensible diet and exercise routine, and do not gain significant weight, your result should be long term. Although fat cells are removed during Liposculpture, with excessive weight gain generally, it is possible for your residual fat cells to increase in size in the area treated as well as elsewhere. It is important to regard your Liposculpture treatment as an immediate aid to improving areas of fat accumulated which stubbornly refuses to budge with diet and exercise. To maintain your result, a sensible approach to diet and exercise should be maintained. Is Liposculpture safe? Problems both during and after the procedure of tumescent liposculpture are certainly less than with conventional liposuction under General Anaesthetic. Minor problems can occur, such as bruising but, again, this is much less with tumescent liposculpture. Liposculpture, especially done with the tumescent technique, is an extremely safe procedure, with very few and minor associated problems. What happens on the day of the procedure? In most cases you will have a small dose of Lorazepam, a gentle sedating agent, but only enough to make you feel relaxed. You will be brought to the clinic by a friend who needs to be on hand at the end of the procedure to take you home again. When you get to the clinic, our nurses will complete your consent forms, and check your blood results, help you into a theatre gown and take you through to the theatre. Dr Olsen will reassess the areas to be treated with you, and mark out the areas with a marker pen , photo's will be taken, you will have an antibacterial solution put over the treatment area, and you will be positioned on the theatre couch and draped with theatre covers. Over the following 40 minutes, you may be given a small injection in the arm for mild sedation and pain relief (remember the procedure is done with the patient awake) and Dr Olsen will gradually introduce local anaesthetic solution through a number of tiny holes in the area to be treated. At the end of this time, suctioning of the fat can commence with special small hollow tubes (cannulae) being introduced painlessly into the fat. Removal of fat generally takes about 40 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of regions to be treated on the day. At the end of the procedure , you will be asked to stand briefly while the doctor and nurse carefully reassess your need for fine tuning should a little more fat need to be removed to achieve a smooth result. When finished, our nurse will remove the theatre covers, dry you off, and put you into pre fitted Liposculpture Compression Garments with absorbent pads underneath to soak up the anaesthetic fluid which continue to drain over the first 24 hours or so. We will take you through to our recovery room and give you a cup of tea while we keep an eye on your general condition for half and hour or so until we are satisfied it's safe to allow you home with your friend/partner. We generally like to see you within 48 hours at the clinic to check the small entry wounds and answer any further questions you might have. Tumescent Liposculpture can be more affordable than you think. Phone 07 578 9495 for a confidential consultation and quote.
